Introduction
Karoo is a technology platform that connects users with independent drivers for delivery services within the Arab Republic of Egypt.
By accessing or using Karoo, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
Platform Role (No Service Provision)
Karoo operates solely as a technology intermediary platform.
- Karoo does not provide transportation, shipping, or logistics services
- Karoo does not employ drivers
- Karoo does not take possession of goods at any time
All delivery services are performed exclusively by independent drivers.
Independent Drivers
Drivers on Karoo:
- Are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Karoo
- Operate at their own discretion and responsibility
- Set their own prices, which users may accept or reject
Drivers are solely and fully responsible for:
- Inspecting shipments before transport
- Accepting or rejecting delivery requests
- Handling, transporting, and delivering goods
Once a driver accepts a shipment, full responsibility for the goods transfers to the driver.
User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Provide accurate shipment details
- Ensure availability at pickup and delivery
- Fully cooperate with the driver
Users are solely responsible for:
- The legality and accuracy of shipment contents
- Any damages resulting from incorrect or misleading information
Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited:
- Illegal goods
- Fragile or high-value items
- Hazardous or dangerous materials
Users must accurately declare shipment contents.
Any misrepresentation transfers full liability to the user.
Pricing & Payments
Pricing Model
- Delivery pricing on Karoo is fully determined by the driver
- Customers are presented with the proposed price and may accept or reject it at their sole discretion
- Karoo does not set, control, or guarantee pricing levels
Karoo acts solely as a facilitator of payment and agreement between user and driver.
Confirmation Fee (Mandatory)
- A non-negotiable confirmation fee of 25% of the agreed delivery price is required to initiate any order
- Orders are not considered confirmed until this fee is successfully paid
This fee serves as:
- A commitment mechanism from the user
- Partial compensation for platform usage and driver allocation
Payment Methods
Karoo supports the following payment methods:
- Cash
- Bank cards (including Visa)
- Digital wallets
Payment Distribution
A) Cash Orders
- Customer pays 25% confirmation fee via the platform
- From this amount:
- 10% is retained by Karoo as a platform fee
- 10% is credited to the driver's in-app wallet
- The remaining 75% is paid directly in cash to the driver upon service completion
B) Fully Online Payments
- The total delivery amount is paid through the platform
- 10% is retained by Karoo as a platform fee
- 90% is credited to the driver's wallet
Driver Earnings & Wallet
- Driver earnings are stored in an in-app wallet system
- Karoo is not a bank or financial institution and does not provide financial services
- Withdrawal terms, processing times, and conditions are subject to platform rules
Fees & Adjustments
Karoo reserves the right to:
- Apply platform fees
- Modify fee structures
- Introduce additional service charges
Any changes will be reflected within the platform.
No Pricing Liability
Users acknowledge that:
- Pricing is agreed directly between customer and driver
- Karoo is not responsible for pricing disputes, perceived overpricing, or value dissatisfaction
Cancellations
- Cancellation is allowed before driver assignment without penalty
- If the driver arrives and the user fails to proceed:
- The 25% confirmation fee is non-refundable
No Guarantees
All services are provided on a “best effort” basis.
Karoo makes no guarantees regarding:
- Delivery time
- Driver availability
- Condition or safety of goods
- Completion of delivery
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Karoo shall not be liable for:
- Loss, damage, or delay of goods
- Driver conduct, actions, or negligence
- Service interruptions or failures
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, business, or data
Karoo's total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount of fees paid to Karoo for the specific transaction.
Assumption of Risk
Users acknowledge and agree that:
- All deliveries are conducted by independent drivers
- Karoo has no control over transportation or handling
- Use of the platform is at the user's own risk
Indemnification
Users agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless Karoo, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or legal actions arising from:
- Shipment contents
- Violations of these Terms
- Misuse of the platform
- Disputes with drivers
Refunds & Disputes
- Refunds are limited and subject to internal review
- No refunds in cases of:
- User error
- Non-cooperation
- Post-dispatch cancellation
All disputes are handled internally.
Karoo reserves the right to make final decisions.
Accounts & Enforcement
Karoo may:
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Refuse service
- Remove users or drivers
Without prior notice, in cases including:
- Fraud
- Abuse
- Policy violations
Data Usage
Karoo collects and processes:
- Location data
- Delivery history
- Communications
This data is used for:
- Operations
- Optimization
- Support
Service Area
Karoo operates exclusively within Egypt.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Updates
Karoo may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
